Number 4 Coastguard Cottages is situated on the spectacular remote Gwennap Headland, in the coastal village of Porthgwarra, right in the heart of West Cornwall. It's incredibly fortunate to be one of the very few cottages on the headland itself and is only a 5 minute walk to the picturesque cove where Poldark was filmed. From the cottage itself you are afforded some of the most awe-inspiring views of the granite moorland and wild Atlantic. The famous beach of Porthcurno, that houses the Minack Theatre, is 10 minutes away by car or a beautiful clifftop hike directly from the cottage. In the opposite direction is a short coastal walk to the remote beach of Nanjizal. Further along is Lands End and then the popular surfing beach of Sennen Cove is a 5 mile drive away from us. And within a 30 minute drive, there is Mousehole, St Micheals Mount and Penzance to name a few.
Number 4 has undergone a complete makeover since it was bought by its new owners in 2021 and opened its doors to guests in 2024. Amy & William Searle were looking for the perfect property to add to their other two cottages, Celyn on the side of a mountain in Snowdonia and The Barley Mill in the Marsland Nature Reserve, that straddles the border between Devon and North Cornwall. SLEEP
Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, 2 with kingsize beds & one with bunk beds (for children only).
All linen provided.
PARKING
Parking for two cars.
EAT
Fully equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge / freezer.
SOAK
Two bathrooms, one with a bath/shower & one with a shower. Towels provided.
RELAX
Cosy lounge with log burner (initial fuel provided) & smart TV with DVD player.
CONNECT
WiFi is availble, although sometimes slow or unavailable due to the location.
AL FRESCO
Large garden with outdoor seating & spectacular views. BBQ not provided.
WASH & DRY
Washing machine & tumble dryer available.

DIRECTIONS
Once you arrive in the village of Porthgwarra, follow the single lane around to the right. Passing the car park on your right, continue up the lane and you will see a row of four terraced cottages on your left. Ours is the first one, number 4. Parking is on your right once you go through the granite pillars.
CANCELLATIONS
Full payment is taken upon booking.
Cancellation 21 days prior to stay=100% refund
Cancellation 14 days prior to stay=50% refund
Cancellation within 14 days of stay= no refund
Our cancellation policy is strict so please make sure you have holiday insurance.
PET POLICY
Two well behaved dogs are allowed for a charge of £25 per dog per stay. Dogs are limited to the kitchen and dining area only. Your security deposit will be used for cleaning if this is ignored. The garden is not secure and we ask that you keep your dog on the lead to stop it running into the other cottage gardens. We also ask that you take your dog to do its business off site on the headland and please pick up after your dog on and off site.
CHILD POLICY
Our bunk beds are strictly for children under 60kg. Outside the grounds are not secure and there are steep drops off the wall running ajacent to the property so children must be supervised at all times.
